Barbara Joan Mehring Obituary
Barbara Joan Mehring, 79, of Burlington, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Pine Brook Pointe.
Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on December 5, 1946, she was the daughter of Ralph and Evelyn (nee Reilly) Fiebelkorn. Her early life was spent in Milwaukee and the Town of Waterford. She graduated from St. Joseph’s Grade School in Big Bend and Waterford High School. She was united in marriage to Cecil Mehring Jr. on October 19, 1968, in Waterford. Following their marriage, they made Racine their home, followed by Waterford and Burlington for the past fifty years.
Barbara worked as an office clerk for Hiller Ford & Leasing. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and raising four boys.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Cecil; children Keith (Renee) Mehring, Steven (Carol) Mehring, Adam (Tamara) Mehring, and Joseph (Charyl Ward) Mehring; grandchildren Erika, Max, Taylor, Martha, Owen, Lillian, Henry, Charles, and Simon; siblings Mary (Harvey) Sadler, Elizabeth Mehring, Jeanne (Larry) Klepp, Patricia (Tom) Victor, Michael (Mary) Fiebelkorn, Marge Lewis, and JoAnne Winkler; and sisters-in-law Arlyce Fiebelkorn, Margaret Collins, and Patricia Nannemann. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Evelyn; in-laws, Cecil Mehring Sr. and Mary Mehring; brother Gerald Fiebelkorn; and brothers-in-law Daniel Lewis, Phil Nannemann, Ward Mehring, and Joseph Collins.
The family would like to thank Dr. Webber and the staff at Pine Brook Pointe and Heartland Hospice, especially nurse Tina Wurtz, for their care during this time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Burlington Catholic School.
Mass of Christian Burial for Barbara will be held at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Relatives and friends can visit with the family on Tuesday, July 14, at the funeral home from 4 pm until 6 pm. Private inurnment will take place at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish Cemetery.
