Alice Jeanette Burkee, age 84, passed away at her home in Kenosha on Thursday, June 17, 2021 with her daughter, Stacy, by her side.
Born on April 22, 1937 in Dongola, IL, Alice was the daughter of the late Willis and Flora (Smith) Russell. Growing up in Dongola, she was a graduate of Dongola High School.
On November 28, 1970, she was united in marriage to Norman A. Burkee in Waukegan, IL. Sadly, Norman preceded her in death in 2011.
For many years, Alice worked as a Secretary for Outboard Marine Corporation (O.M.C.) until her retirement in 1974. She enjoyed writing poetry and was invited into the Poetry Society of America in New York.
Alice is survived by her daughter, Stacy (Nelson) Brown; her grandchildren, Jessica and Dylan Brown; her sister, Joann (Louis) Bauer.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Carl (Lorraine) Russell, Bob Russell, Gene (Virginia) Russell; her sisters, Wilma (Don) Benson, Donna (Roger) Craig, Stella Hartman; her nephews, Ronnie Craig and Russ Bauer.
