Kenosha’s Tri My Best Triathlon Is Aug. 9 – Athletes, Volunteers, and Sponsors Still Needed

Tri My Best Triathlon
Now in its 12th year, the adapted swim-bike-run event for children and young adults with developmental disabilities is presented by Uline and hosted by Tender Touch Therapy and the Kenosha YMCA.

Kenosha’s Tri My Best Triathlon — believed to be the largest adapted triathlon of its kind in the United States — returns Sunday, Aug. 9, and organizers are calling on athletes, volunteers, and sponsors to be part of the event’s 12th year.

The swim-bike-run event is designed for children ages 5 and up and young adults with developmental disabilities, including autism, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, global delays, and other conditions. All abilities and all adaptive equipment are welcome: flotation devices, adapted bikes, walkers, power wheelchairs, and any other assistive devices athletes may need. Every athlete is paired one-on-one with a volunteer to provide encouragement, assistance, and safety throughout the course.

Presented by Uline and hosted by Tender Touch Therapy and the Kenosha YMCA, the event has grown over 12 years into one of the most distinctive community events in the region — a triathlon that asks nothing of its athletes except that they show up and try.

For Athletes and Families

Children ages 5 and up and young adults with developmental disabilities are eligible to register. No prior experience is required. Every athlete receives the support they need to complete the course safely. Registration and information are available at tendertouchtherapyllc.com/tri-my-best-triathlon.

For Volunteers

Tri My Best requires approximately 400 volunteers on race day — one of the larger single-day volunteer mobilizations in Kenosha County. Businesses looking for a meaningful team-building day are encouraged to sign up as a group. Online volunteer registration is available through the event website. For questions, contact TMBkenosha@tendertouchtherapyllc.com.

For Sponsors and Vendors

Sponsorship opportunities for the 2026 event are available from $250 to $3,000. New this year is a Presenting Sponsor tier at $3,000, which includes top-tier naming recognition and all Platinum Sponsor benefits. Additional levels include Platinum ($1,500), Gold ($1,000), Silver ($500), and Vendor Village ($250).

Also new: a Vendor Village option that lets businesses set up a table and tent at the event to connect directly with athletes, families, and the community. Adaptive bike sponsorships — where a donor funds a custom-fitted bike that carries their name on a license plate and is used by athletes for years — are available from $1,000 to $3,500. In-kind donations of equipment, supplies, and food are welcome and recognized.

Sponsorship forms and inquiries go to the Kenosha YMCA, Attn: Chris Finkel, Development Director, 7101 53rd St., or at tendertouchtherapyllc.com/tri-my-best-triathlon.
