10th annual festival features the Wisconsin Giant Pumpkin Growers weigh-off, “Glass Slipper Princess” from the Fairytale Birthday company and also Miss Kenosha Jenna Zeihen will be available for photos with the giant pumpkins from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. People are welcome to stay to watch the pumpkin weigh-off and take photos while pumpkins are moved onto a scale from 1-2 p.m. Free mini pumpkins will be given to the first 100 children who stop by the Kenosha Public Market information booth, located on the west side of the parking lot outside City Hall. The band Thomas & Randle will perform from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Great Lakes Brew Fest

Celebration Place at Harbor Park, 5501 Ring Rd.
SE Wisconsin’s largest brewfest features unlimited sampling of more than 300 craft beers, homebrews, hard ciders & seltzers from nearly 75 brewers as well as live music, food trucks and vendors. The brewfest benefits the Kilties Drum and Bugle Corps, a non-profit charitable educational organization founded in 1934. Tickets are $20-80 plus fees. All attendees must be age 21 or older and present valid ID. No children, babies, or pets are allowed. Designated Driver tickets are available.

Kenosha Streetcar Day

Celebrate Kenosha’s Electric Streetcars with tours of the “streetcar barn,” LEGO display, and more. Ride the streetcars starting at 10:35 a.m. Fare for one loop is $1 for ages 13 and older, 50 cents for ages 5 to 12, ages 4 and younger ride free. An all-day pass costs $3.50 and can be purchased when boarding the streetcar. No charge for Streetcar Barn tour. Participating organizations include Kenosha Area Transit, Kenosha Streetcar Society, and Kenosha LEGO Users Group.

Walk in the Woods 30th Annual Art Fair

Hawthorn Hollow Nature Sanctuary & Arboretum, 880 Green Bay Rd.
More than 60 artists will be displaying their wares along the trails, including paintings, sculptures, garden art, pottery, furniture, artistic photography, and more. The event also includes kid’s activities led by the Kenosha Public Library, such as face painting and nature play and local musicians, including Mark Paffrath, Brent Mitchell, Matt Michael, and Rusty Horse throughout the day. A wide selection of food and beverages, including beer from Public Craft Brewing Co., will be available for purchase (no carry-ins). Cost is $10 per vehicle, cash only.

Second Friday Lecture Series: The Band That Played for History. Ed Pierce presents the story of the little brass band from Brodhead, Wis. that played from 1857 to 1865. Abraham Lincoln, Stephen Douglas, U.S. Grant, William T. Sherman, Oliver Otis Howard, Charles Hamilton, and Nathaniel P. Banks were among the impressive list of those who heard the music of the 1st Brigade band and its other combinations.
