Kenosha Unified School District (KUSD) proudly celebrates the outstanding achievement of Tremper High School senior Dallen Arendt, who has advanced to the prestigious National Shakespeare Competition (NSC) following an exceptional performance at the state level.
The NSC, presented by the English-Speaking Union, challenges students to perform both a monologue and a sonnet by William Shakespeare. Participants begin at the school level, with top performers advancing to state and national levels.
At Tremper, Dallen earned first place among eight competitors, impressing a panel of judges with his performance and securing his place at the state level.
In January, he represented KUSD as he and 19 others performed for a panel of theater professionals, including actors, directors, and educators. After the first round, only six students advanced, and Dallen was selected as the finalist and ultimately earned first place in the state competition.
With this achievement, Dallen has been invited to compete at the national level in New York City on Monday, April 27, an honor awarded to only 40 students nationwide. The event will take place at Lincoln Center’s Mitzi Newhouse Theater, one of the country’s most renowned stages.
This accomplishment reflects Dallen’s extraordinary talent, dedication, and hard work. He has represented Tremper High School and KUSD with distinction.
Community members are encouraged to support Dallen by participating in the 2026 NSC People’s Choice Award. Vote NSC1 at https://www.esuus.org/peoples-choice/, voting closes Tuesday, April 21.
