Participants “check out” a Human Book for a 30-minute, one-to-one conversation, asking questions to gain a better understanding of their experiences. “Human Library is such an exciting event and opportunity for our community to come together and learn more about each other in a deeper way. Much like we encourage readers to not judge a book by its cover, we believe that each member of our community is so much more than we understand at first glance,” said Kenosha Public Library Communications Specialist Brandi Cummings. The Human Library includes diverse subjects, and all questions are encouraged. Open to adults and minors accompanied by parents. Free.

Kenosha Civic Veterans Parade presented by Snap-on

Downtown from Washington Middle School to Library Park
“America the Beautiful ” is the theme for the 2022 Kenosha Civic Veterans Parade, presented by Snap-on. Navy Band Great Lakes will lead the parade, which includes a variety of entertainment and honored guests, including the 2021 Hometown Hero of the Year, Thomas Visintainer. Kenosha’s own Rambler Band and Band of the Blackwatch return to the parade this year. Eleven floats will compete for awards.

Experience the wonders of night in the woods of Hawthorn Hollow with Naturalist Kailyn Daum. Learn all about the adaptations nocturnal creatures have developed to survive and thrive when the sun goes down, gaze in awe at the night sky, and listen to the songs that fill the woods and fields after dark. This is a 60-minute outdoor program, please dress for the weather.
