Ranger of the Week: Danny Sanicki

Golfer shares top individual honors as Parkside captures MSOE Invite

By PARKSIDE ATHLETICS

The University of Wisconsin-Parkside Athletics Department is committed to a balanced student-athlete experience that develops future leaders and active community members. As the only NCAA Division II member in the state of Wisconsin, we strive to live the “Life in the Balance” philosophy by promoting academic excellence, athletic success, and community engagement to ensure personal growth and development.

Anything you can do; I can do better. One week after his twin brother Steven was named the Kenosha.com Ranger of the Week, Parkside men’s golfer Danny Sanicki led his team to a first-place finish at the MSOE Invite and is this week’s Kensoha.com Ranger of the Week.

Danny finished in a tie for first place individually after shooting an even-par 72 in round one and a 1-under 71 in round two at The Brutes Course at Grand Geneva Resort. He had five birdies in round two, while the rest of his team combined for two that day. As a team, Parkside shot a winning two-day total of 591, edging out Luther College by four shots. It’s the team’s first win under second year head coach Tyler Wollberg, who joined Parkside from Carthage.

Entrepreneurs

Danny and Steven Sanicki are both double-majors in business management with a finance concentration and marketing with a sales certificate. It’s no wonder they decided to go into business together, especially when they were both home in Menomonee Falls over quarantine last spring. The brothers, along with their friends from home, Thomas and Matthew Kirchberger, started a clothing business because “we wanted more real-world experience before we actually got into the real world.”

The business, which cannot be named due to NCAA rules, sells shirts, hats and sweatshirts. While Danny and Steven handle the business and marketing side of things, their friends handle the design aspect of their business. The two like to use Facebook and Instagram for their marketing, and of course, word of mouth.

Catch Parkside Men’s Soccer
