Steven Reuter, 84, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away on March 31, 2026, at Froedtert South Pleasant Prairie Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Steve (Mickey) was born on December 2, 1941, in Highland Park, IL, the son of the late Paul and Edna (Block) Reuter. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha. Steven married Judith Laba on May 23, 1970, in Kenosha. Following his active duty service as a U.S. Army paratrooper in the 101st Airborne, he worked as a union plumber and estimator in Kenosha until his retirement. Outside of work, Steve was passionate about his love of fishing and spending time with his family and friends. He spent countless days chasing Salmon on Lake Michigan with his fishing partners Dave Slayton and Jerry Vigansky and his family. He also enjoyed the northwoods, spending time fishing, camping, and relaxing at the family cottage in Ely, Minnesota, near the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. Beyond his love of fishing, he enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren participate in high school sports and spent over ten years coaching youth football with CYC. and spending time with his friends and family.
Steve is survived by his wife of 55 years, Judith Reuter of Pleasant Prairie; children, Jason (Heather) Reuter of Kenosha, Mike Reuter of Ely, MN; his brother, Gerry Reuter of Silver Lake; his brother in-laws Joe (Char) Laba and Bill Laba of Kenosha, and his sister in-law Joan Zavasky of Kenosha and Gail (Kevin) Seitz of Bristol. Steve also had two grandchildren, Kaela Reuter and Blake Reuter, and many nieces and nephews. Steven was preceded in death by his parents and his sister-in-law, Karen.
A celebration of life will be held at the Boat House Pub and Eatery in Kenosha on Saturday, April 25, from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM, and all friends and family are invited.
