Shirley Diane Merrill, 87 years old of Brighton, WI passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at her home.
She was born November 26, 1934, in Kenosha, WI the daughter of the late Ralph J. and Alice M. (Christionson) Shreve. On July 18, 1953, she married Bruce Merrill in Kenosha, WI and he preceded her in death September 3, 2012. Shirley lived in the City of Kenosha and Kenosha County, WI for many years before settling in Tucson, AZ thirty years ago, and returned back home this year.
Shirley enjoyed playing BINGO, traveling, and shopping. She cherished time spent with her family and will be remembered for her sense of humor.
Survivors include her children, Bruce (Patricia) Merrill Jr., of Winter, WI, Brenda (Larry) Barbel of Tucson, AZ, Laura (the late Timmy) Chevrette of Brighton, WI, Glen (Patricia) Merrill Sr. of Salem, WI, Sheila (Brian) Kaddatz of Pleasant Prairie, WI, and Sandra (Don) Flesch Jr. of Kenosha, WI; 15 grandchildren, Rebecca, Jason, Brian, Andrea, Rhonda, Thomas, Glen Jr., Kathleen, Casey, David, Courtney, Heather, Don III, Christopher, and Andrew; 25 great-grandchildren and two on the way; three great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Georgene (Ted) Dworak; and her best friend, Elaine Essary.
In addition to her parents, husband, and son-in-law, Shirley was preceded in death by a grandson, Bruce Merrill III; and sisters, Lorraine Hauff and Joyce Oettel.
A celebration of Shirley and Bruce’s Lives will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 26220 31st Street, Salem, WI. Arrangements were entrusted to Proko Funeral Home.
