Richard R. Bichsel Sr., 94 of Elkhorn, WI, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at his home. He was born March 18, 1932, in Arcadia, WI, the son of the late Rhinilla (Bichsel) Tainter. Richard started his working career as a police officer and went on to serve for over 20 years with the National Guard. He also owned and operated Southern Wisconsin Security and assisted the Walworth County Sheriff’s Department for over 8 years. Richard served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He loved nature and always made sure his bird feeders were full.
Richard is survived by his children: Richard (Suzi) Bichsel Jr., Timothy Bichsel, Todd (Jennifer) Bichsel, Mary Murat, Debbie, Denise, and Gerry, grandchildren: Blaine, Heather (Brandon), Nick (Cara), Danny (Melissa), Nicole, Daniel, and Jim (Tanya), and his great-grandchildren: Knox, Johnny, Airais, William, and Madison. He was preceded in death by his mother and siblings: John, Jerry, Bob, Micky, and Barbara.
