Richard Joseph Korecz, 90 years old of Kenosha, WI passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at the WI Veterans Home – Boland Hall, Union Grove, WI.
He was born June 3, 1934, in Kenosha, WI the son of the late Joseph and Maria (Meyers) Korecz. Richard proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. On June 24, 1961, he married Cynthia Bushonville at St. Mary Catholic Church, Kenosha, WI and she preceded him in death in 2020.
Richard worked as a machinist for American Brass for many years before his retirement. He was a classic car enthusiast, and was proud of his 1972 Ambassador. Richard was an avid Milwaukee Brewers and Bucks fan, and enjoyed keeping up with his yard; especially mowing the grass and tending the flowers
Survivors include two sons, Michael (Joan) Korecz and Mark (Deborah) Korecz; eight grandchildren, Emily, Elena, Michael Jr., Kristine, Andrew, Anthony, Courtney and Wesley; great-grandchildren, Haley, McKenna, and Jax; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Richard was preceded in death by sisters, Beatrice Riley and Dorothy Wirch.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 12, 2025, at Proko Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home and interment with military honors will follow in St. George Cemetery, Kenosha, WI. Memorials appreciated to Aurora at home hospice.
