Raymond “Ray” J. Rupp, 84, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Froedtert South St. Catherine’s Hospital.
He was born on July 10, 1941, to the late John G. and Hazel (Jensen) Rupp in Kenosha. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School.
On August 31, 1963, he married Colleen Sullivan at St. Anthony’s of Padua Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on June 6, 2011.
Ray entered the US Army in October of 1966 and was honorably discharged in October of 1968, serving during Vietnam.
Ray worked as a grocer in produce and frozen foods for IGA, Kroger, A&P, and Super Valu for many years, retiring in 1998. After retirement, he worked at Pet’s Golf Course on the 10th hole for nine years, and worked at UW-Parkside for several years. Ray was a member of the Retail Clerk Union.
Ray was a member of St. Anthony’s of Padua Catholic Church. He was a lecturer and eucharistic minister and was very active within the church.
Ray enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, and target shooting. He loved traveling with his wife Colleen, and going to casinos.
Ray is survived by his brother Le (Rachelle) Rupp, his sister Kathleen Steele, his grandchildren Richard (Jayne) Gabriel and Kelly Leisner, his great-grandchildren Damien, Jackson, Aria, Alvin, and Joyce, and his daughter-in-law Cindy (Ricky) Wick.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Colleen, his son Greg, his brother Richard, and his brother-in-law Larry Steele.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Ray will be held on Wednesday, February 25th at 1:00 p.m. at St. Anthony’s of Padua Catholic Church (2223 – 51st St.).
Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at St. George Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. (Noon) until the time of Mass.
