Phyllis E. (Midtbo) Zingelman, 83, of Twin Lakes, WI., passed away on Saturday April 26th, 2025. Phyllis was born to Harold and Ella (Gai) Midtbo, in Brookly, NY on March 10th, 1942. Phyllis graduated from St. Olaf college in 1962 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English.
She was united in marriage to the love of her life Erik Zingelman on August 18th, 1963 at Trinity Lutheran church, in Brooklyn NY.
Phyllis moved to Black River Falls, WI in 1973. Over the next 29 years in Black River Falls, Phyllis served as a church choir member, Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher and coordinator, Sunday School Music Teacher, Children’s Choir Director, Circle member and chairman. In the community she served as a Library Story Hour Volunteer [for 20 years]; Campfire Council Member; Cub Scout Den Mother; Jackson County Cancer Society Volunteer and Board Member; Tuesday Club member and president; Hospital Auxiliary board member, president and volunteer; Hospice volunteer; City Library Board member and president; Hospital Board member and vice-president; Falls Players Board member, directing six productions and assisting or acting in numerous others.
Erik retired from Evangelical Lutheran church in Black River Falls, WI, and the couple moved to Twin Lakes, WI in 2002 to be closer to family. Phyllis was a devoted grandmother to her three granddaughters, and spent endless hours hosting sleepovers, playing games, singing, doing crafts, and cooking their favorite meals. Phyllis joined the choir and bell choir at Messiah Lutheran Church. Within a year she became a board member of the pre-school. She loved to ring and sing until the end. Phyllis loved children, was an avid reader, loved cats and daffodils. She would never miss her ice cream before bed. Many knew her as a good listener. She was a steadfast, thoughtful, caring friend to many. Phyllis lived an active and fulfilling life.
Phyllis is survived by her husband Erik, her sons; Timothy (Ada) Zingelman, Peter (Megan) Zingelman. Her siblings; Christine Black, Glenn (Betsy) Midtbo, Lawrence Midtbo, and Kenneth (Lori) Midtbo. She is further survived by her grandchildren; Sarah (Zingelman) May, Rachel Zingelman, Kathryn (Katie) Zingelman, and numerous nieces, and nephews.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held for Phyllis on June 28th, 2025, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 8720 368th Avenue, Twin Lakes, WI, 53181. Funeral service starts at 2:30 P.M. with Pastor Melody Brink, a visitation will be held at the church from 1:30 P.M. until the time of service.
