It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear Malissa Bader, who left us on Thursday, June 4, 2026, after a long battle with cancer. Malissa was born on July 15, 1981, to Frank and Tina Kreske Bader. She graduated from Crystal Lake Central High School in Crystal Lake, IL. Malissa was a bright light in the lives of so many, especially her children, and her warmth and kindness brought joy to those around her.
She is survived by her father, Frank; stepmother, Sandra, and stepfather, Craig Kreske; her spouse, John Grode (parents John and Karen Grode); her children, Johnny and Theodore, all of whom will forever hold her in their hearts. She is also survived by her sisters, Vanessa (Ryan) Kreske Carter, Carissa Kreske, and Nicole Bader (fiancé Joseph Herff), and her stepbrother, Josh (Erica) Kreske.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Tina Cindy Kreske.
Memorial services will be held in Kenosha, WI, and then Crystal Lake, IL, at a later date.
