Lana Gay Hurst (Smith) age 70, of Racine, passed away on December 12th, 2024, at Villa at Lincoln Park Nursing Home in Racine. She was born on April 17th, 1954, in Troy, Missouri, to the late Gentry Smith and Dorothy (Sonwalt). She attended the University of Kansas City Missouri and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 1978. On May 10th, 1980, she married Nelson Hurst in Highland Park IL.
She is survived by her children: Travis Hurst, Lauren (Ken) Gentry, and Valerie (Tom) Hurst – Baker, grandchildren: Olivia, Gwendolyn, and Audrey, siblings: Lang Smith and Lynn Meador (Randy), and ex-husband, Nelson Hurst. She was preceded in death by her parents, and daughter: Natalie Hurst.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
