It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kimberly Lynn Iaquinta, aged 57, who left us on Sunday, April 5, 2026. She was born on February 6, 1969, in Waukegan, Illinois, to Gerald and Cynthia Haines. She was a graduate of Warren High School in Gurnee, IL. She earned her bachelor’s degree in science from Southern Illinois University and went on to achieve her master’s degree in business management. Kim was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, known for her compassionate nature, infectious energy, and warm sense of humor that could light up any room.
Kim led a fast-paced lifestyle. Whether she was sailing, swimming, running, or biking with her son, she was happiest when active and outdoors. Kim had a unique love for Lake Michigan and often reminisced about fond memories on the water washing boats in the Waukegan Harbor throughout high school. She shared this love of the lake with her son, and the two of them could often be spotted swimming off Simon’s Island in all kinds of weather. Kim inherited a love of golf from her father. She was an annual member of a local golf league and would frequently play lighthearted rounds with her parents at Bonnie Brook Golf Course in Waukegan, Illinois.
From a young age, Kim was known for her love of animals and would often come home to her family with stories of helping a turtle across a busy road or passing a family of sandhill cranes in a field. She had a reputation in her neighborhood for always having a treat ready for passing dogs and was the go-to person when a neighbor needed their pet looked after. The fruits of Kim’s warm and giving nature were not reserved only for animals. Through daily acts of extraordinary kindness and formal volunteering, Kim devoted her life to the joy of others, treating strangers like loved ones and always offering a helping hand to those in need.
The strength of Kim’s character was shaped by her faith. She was an active member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church and served as a eucharistic minister to those who were too ill to attend weekly mass. Kimberly took pride in her career as a Senior Demand Planner at Fresenius Kabi, USA, and was grateful to be able to work at a company that produced lifesaving medical equipment.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Frank Iaquinta; her cherished son, Valentin Iaquinta; her loving parents, Gerald and Cynthia Haines; her beloved sister, Kristen Haines; and a host of friends and family who will forever hold her memory dear.
Those who knew Kimberly remember her for her profound kindness, steadfast resilience, unshakable positivity, and unwavering support of others. She had a way of making those around her feel especially valued and appreciated – qualities we will strive to honor in her memory.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made in Kim’s name to Wisconsin Humane Society Kenosha Campus, 7811 60th Ave, Kenosha, WI 53142,https://www.wihumane.org/ would be appreciated.
