March 8, 1941 – January 22, 2026
Katherine “Kathy” Dahlby, 84, of Racine, WI, formerly of Kenosha, passed away peacefully and gained her wings on Thursday, January 22, 2026, in Racine.
Born on March 8, 1941, in Tomah, WI, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Daisy (Bowers) Goldbeck. Growing up, she attended schools in LaCrosse, WI.
She was a Lutheran who deeply believed in eternal life in Heaven and is now in the presence of God.
Kathy worked at LeBlanc Corp. assembling instruments, as well as in many taverns as a bartender. She stopped working briefly to take care of her sister, Beverly.
She loved to do anything related to gambling, scratch-offs, Powerball, pull-tabs, slot machines, trips to the casinos, and playing Bingo. She would also get on numerous strip cards for the football games and NASCAR races. Always rooting for her favorite team – the Green Bay Packers.
Her favorite color was purple, she collected angels, enjoyed singing and dancing to country music, and watching Western movies. Kathy was also known to cook a mean pork and beef roast dinner with extra gravy. She was a beautiful and kind person who loved people, always helping others. Kathy also had a lot of trust held in her heart and was a sassy and funny social butterfly. She was incredibly proud of all her boys for serving their country. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Kathy is survived by her three sons, Dale Lockington and Roy and Robert Sokolik (twins), two granddaughters, Hannah Lockington and Lori Sokolik-Pomeroy, one grandson, Shawn Sokolik, one sister, Maxine Metcalf, one brother, Wayne Goldbeck, one daughter she never had, Pamela Hart, a bonus granddaughter, Katlynn Kumorkiewicz, many nieces and nephews, which she adored, Rick, Dennis, Connie and Bonnie (twins), Debbie, Kathy and Dawn, as well as many other family members and close friends.
She was preceded in death by six siblings, Mary Goldbeck in infancy, Gerald Goldbeck, Beverly Kephart, Donald Goldbeck, Charles Goldbeck, and Roy Goldbeck, one grandson, Eric Sokolik, countless friends and loved ones, good friend, Barbara Wroblewski, very close friend, Matt Gassen, and best friend, late-night cards and Bingo buddy, Vicky Tate.
A Celebration of Life will be held at her favorite hangout, Interlude II Bar & Grill, 514 – 57th Street, Kenosha, WI, on Sunday, March 8, 202,6 from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Please wear purple or Packers attire. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be greatly appreciated.
The Burial Ceremony will take place in the Springtime at Mound Prairie Cemetery in Houston County, MN. Please practice singing “The Old Rugged Cross” (Kathy’s favorite song) and “Softly and Tenderly Jesus is Calling” so we can sing them during the burial, per Kathy’s final wishes. Let’s make her proud. Date and time will be updated online once determined.
