John enjoyed a long and dedicated career with Abbott, from which he retired in 2012. He valued the relationships he built through his time there.
He was the proud father of Jamie Gilliam (Jason), Susie Ventura (Ryan), and Frank Ventura (Tina), and a loving grandfather to Lauren Gilliam, Carmelina Ventura, and Gino Ventura, each of whom brought him immense joy.

In addition to his wife, children, and grandchildren, John is survived by his siblings and extended family, including Mary Joy Hendrickson, Thomas (Marie), Joanne (Frederick) Czeswik, Kathleen (Richard) Rose, Joseph (Veronica), Michael (Stacy), and William; his brother- and sister-in-law, Nello and Terry Buratti; who will remember him with love and respect.
John was a man of quiet strength, loyalty, and generosity. He valued hard work, humility, and above all, family. He especially cherished time spent hunting and fishing with his brothers, creating lifelong memories rooted in companionship, tradition, and the outdoors. His greatest pride was his family, and his legacy lives on through them.
