Eugene Johnson, 66, of Kenosha, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Eugene Johnson was born on July 8, 1959, in Evanston, Illinois, to the late Luddie Johnson Sr. and Diane (Hunter) Johnson. He was raised and educated in the Kenosha school system, graduating from Bradford High School.
Eugene spent many years working as a self-employed painter, a profession that reflected both his strong work ethic and artistic spirit. He was a gifted artist with a natural talent for creativity, and he also dedicated time to mastering martial arts.
Above all, Eugene deeply valued the time he shared with his family and friends. His warmth, talents, and presence will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Survivors include his children, Kenje Jenkins, Sheena (Nick) Schwarz, Shayna Johnson, and Sable Johnson, all of Kenosha, and Giavanna Upton of Green Bay; his mother, Diane Johnson of Kenosha; his brothers, Luddie (Mary) Johnson Jr., Leo (the late Judy) Johnson, James Johnson, Michael Johnson, Raymond (Maria) Johnson, Robert (Ning) Johnson, Charlie Johnson, Richard (Karen) Johnson, David Johnson, Tyrone Johnson, and Bruce (Marcy) Johnson; his sisters, Valerie Johnson, Samone Johnson, Elizabeth (Rob) Johnson-Guerrero, Dezarrea (Robert) Kindle, and Della (Curtis) Harbin; as well as many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Eugene was preceded in death by his father, Luddie Johnson Sr.; his sister, Teresa Johnson; his nephew, Jamir Johnson; his great-nephew, Elye Tolefree; and his sister-in-law, Judy Johnson.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
