Ellen Hedges, 81, of Kenosha, passed away on March 9, 2026, at Hospice Alliance.
Ellen was born on July 3, 1944, in Racine, the daughter of the late Donald and Frieda (Handschke) Musiel. She was educated in the schools of Racine. Ellen married James Hedges on October 2, 1965, in Racine. She was the owner of Surfside Bowl for many years. Her hobbies included going on casino trips, taking girl trips up north, cheering for the Green Bay Packers, but most of all, she loved spending time with her friends and family, especially with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Brian (Debbie) Hedges of Kenosha, AJ (Kris) Hedges of Kenosha; brothers, Donald (Joanne) Musiel of Door County, Robert (Marie) Musiel of Racine; also included are her 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her sister, Marilyn.
A memorial gathering will be held at Kenosha Funeral Services on Monday, March 16, 2026, from 2:00 PM-5:00 PM with memorial services to follow immediately at 5:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers,s memorials to the Jim Hedges Memorial Scholarship would be appreciated.
