Daniel Jason Dlask, 37, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2025. A devoted husband, loving father and son: Dan’s legacy of love, service, and selflessness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Dan was born November 11, 1987 in Marshfield, Wisconsin to Daniel Jude Dlask and Sandra (Ridel) Linnemanstons. Dan attended high school in Waunakee and graduated in 2006. It was there that he formed lifelong friendships that would remain close to his heart. His friends from Waunakee were more than just classmates—they were a second family to him, sharing in countless memories and supporting each other through life’s challenges. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he proudly served his country. Dan attended Boot Camp at Recruit Training Command—Great Lakes (Division 06-347), beginning a journey of service that would define much of his life.
Dan honorably served in the United States Navy for 18 and a half years, during which he deployed seven times. Throughout his distinguished career, he earned numerous recognitions including Bluejacket of the Year and Sailor of the Year; as well as several awards including a Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, seven Navy Marine Achievement Medals, and five Good Conduct Medals. As a Chief Petty Officer, Dan was not only a leader but a mentor—he was wise beyond his years, and a friend to all those who had the absolute honor to serve along side him, no matter the rank. His service included time at United States Naval Academy, Navy Expeditionary Guard Battalion Guantanamo, Riverine Squadron Two, Naval Special Warfare Group Two Logistics Support Unit, Navy Recruiting District Chicago, USS Lewis B. Puller (ESB-3), and Recruit Training Command. Dan created a lifelong bond with his Navy family that went deeper than blood. He was the shoulder to cry on, the ears to listen, the voice of reason, and the cause of laughter. For many of those who served with him, he was a beacon of light that always led down the right path.
Dan met the love of his life in May 2017. They married on May 14, 2018 at Saint Bronislava Parish in Plover, WI. Dan’s love for his wife, Breanna, was unparalleled. It was a love that radiated in every glance, every small gesture, every moment they shared. He even joked that he loved Breanna so much he married her twice, as they had two wedding celebrations. Together, Dan and Breanna shared two beautiful children, Brooklyn and Crew, who were the pride and joy of his life. His love for his children was unmatched. It was a love that shaped everything he did whether it was sharing in their laughter, offering his hugs and kisses, or teaching them life’s lessons. Dan’s devotion to his family extended beyond words—he lived it, showing up for the ones he loved in ways that spoke louder than words. His family was his anchor, and he gave them his all—always, without hesitation.
Dan lived a full and vibrant life. He loved traveling, exploring breweries and distilleries, and experiencing new cuisines. Dan also loved to ride his motorcycle with his brothers of the Warrior Brotherhood MC. Though Dan was passionate about motorcycles, he gave up his bike after his children were born, but that didn’t erase his love for riding.
Dan generously gave his time to his community. He was an active volunteer, deeply committed to serving others. Through his command, Dan spent countless hours making breakfast for the Navy League, fundraising for the Chief’s Association, volunteering for Feed My Starving Children, and lent a hand wherever needed. His heart was as big as his dedication, always looking for ways to make a positive impact. His kindness and willingness to help were not limited to his family—they extended to everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.
Dan is survived by his wife, Breanna; their children, Brooklyn and Crew; his mother, Sandy (Robb) Linnemanstons; his sister, Alana (Justin) Dlask; his mother and father-in-law, Cori and Randy Studinski; sister-in-law, Brittany (Matt) Czaikowski; nieces, Elena and Madison Czaikowski; and his aunt, Beverly Riedel.
Dan was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Jude Dlask; his grandmother, Jean Riedel; his grandfather Hans Robert Riedel, and grandparents Victor and Mary Dlask.
Dan’s warmth, humor, and kindness will be remembered by all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire and guide his family and friends for years to come. While his presence will be deeply missed, his love remains, woven into the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
