Adam Lee Schaefer, 62, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Aurora Medical Center.
He was born on July 2, 1963, to Richard J. and Brenda (Jerome) Schaefer in Kenosha County. He was educated in Kenosha County and attended Central High School until relocation to Stockton, CA, returning to Kenosha in 1993.
On June 5, 1999, Adam married the love of his life, Jane Broughton, in Kenosha, and they were married for 26 years, thanks to his Aunt Diane Delaney.
Adam was a skilled cabinet maker working for the Kenosha Unified School District.
Adam loved fishing with his friends, making sausage, watching the Food Network Channel, and was a great cook. His friends and family called him the Grill and Smoke Master. Adam volunteered for Kindred Kitties and the Elder Garden, building the foundation for seating for them. Adam had a big heart and loved helping people.
Adam is survived by his loving wife Jane, his mother Brenda Schaefer, his daughter Tammie Harvey, his grandchildren Christian, Victoria, and Jonathan, and her best friend Beka Rud, his mother-in-law Elsie Broughton, his sister-in-law Yolanda Schaefer, a niece Amanda (Sergio) Arizmendi, nephews Corey Schaefer and Charles Broughton, great nieces, and nephews Seliz, Anjy, Alvin, and Arthur, and his aunt Mary Thompson. He is also survived by his dear friends John (Carol) and Andy (Sue), loving cousins, and an abundance of true friends that Adam considered his extended family.
He is preceded in death by his father, a brother, Jeff Schaefer, Nephew Anthony Schaefer, and several loving aunts and uncles.
A Celebration of Life for Adam will be held on Saturday, February 14th at 1:00 p.m. at the Bruch-Hansen Funeral Home (6019 – 7th Ave.). Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials would be appreciated to Hospice Alliance, Shalom Center, or Kindred Kitties. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
The family would like to thank everyone (too many to mention) who showed their love and compassion and helped Adam and Jane during this difficult time.
