Dennis Keith McNabb passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the age of 79, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and kindness that touched the lives of those who knew him.
He was born on August 23, 1946, in Waukegan, IL, to the late Radley and Ardis (Christianson) McNabb. Dennis grew up in Zion, IL, and attended Zion Benton High School, where he was an active member of the marching band as a drummer. He went on to attend Greenville College, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology in 1968. During his time at Greenville, Dennis was actively involved in campus life, serving on the Social Life Committee, participating in the Men’s Glee Club, and holding the position of class Vice President during both his sophomore and junior years.
Dennis continued his education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he earned a Master’s Degree in Education in 1970. Throughout his career, he served as a faculty member in Christian Studies, worked with Youth for Christ, and was an ordained minister, dedicating much of his life to faith, education, and service to others.
He is survived by his two daughters, Heather and Heidi, sister-in-law, Lois McNabb, nephew, Matt McNabb, and niece, Hollie McNabb.
In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his brother, Terry McNabb.
A devoted believer in God, Dennis lived his life guided by Christian values, finding strength, comfort, and purpose in his faith. Throughout his life, Dennis found joy in God’s creation and gratitude in life’s simple blessings. Dennis was known for his warm smile, caring heart, and gentle spirit.
We express our deepest gratitude to Hospice Alliance for the compassionate care and support provided to Dennis. In addition, a special thank you to Dennis’s friends at St. Anne’s Catholic Church for all the prayers, vigils, and support.
While his passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, we take comfort in the promise of eternal life and the assurance that Dennis is now at peace in the presence of God. May his life serve as a reminder of the power of faith, love, and devotion.
