Daniel Robert Maxwell, age 80, of Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at home on June 4th, 2026. He was born on December 17th, 1945, in Prairie Du Chien, to his parents, Theodore Russell Maxwell and Alvina Pauline Lang.
He was a Navy veteran who served during the Vietnam War; he fought for our country from 1963 to 1967. He then had a 30-year career at Chrysler Automotive. He was a devoted father and grandfather. He lived with his daughter, Donna Povkovich, granddaughter, Abby Povkovich, and grand-dog Zoe, for over 15 years. They were his full-time caregivers, and he was their biggest supporter. He enjoyed golfing, cooking, watching all Wisconsin sports, and spending time with his loved ones. He was known for his strength, humor, and generosity.
He is survived by his daughter and granddaughter (caregivers), Donna and Abby Povkovich; Children, John Maxwell (Becky), Anthony Maxwell, Alida Mucha, and James Maxwell (Katie); Grandchildren, Tyler Nitsch (Madie), Abby Povkovich; and siblings, sister, Maxine Lund (Marv), brother, Jim Maxwell (Gail).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Alvina; his son, Mark Maxwell; his brothers, Frank Maxwell (Mary) and Jack Maxwell (Wilma); his former wife, Darlene Maxwell; and his beloved grand-dog, Honey.
Daniel was an avid member of the Moose Club, as well as being part of multiple Dartball and Horseshoe Bar Leagues in Kenosha.
Daniel’s memorial service will be at the Veterans Cemetery in Union Grove on Thursday, June 18th. The service will start at 10:00 AM, and arrival at the cemetery is at 9:45 AM. After the memorial, there will be an open-house-style visitation at the home of Donna and Abby Povkovich.
Dan will be remembered every Packer Sunday and deeply missed by all who met and knew him. All are welcome to both the service and the visitation at the home.
