June 29 fundraiser at Kenosha Country Club supports nearly three decades of community services from the ELCA Outreach Center.

The ELCA Outreach Center, a Kenosha nonprofit that has quietly served thousands of residents for nearly 30 years, is hosting its first annual golf outing next month — and organizers are calling on the community to grab their clubs and show up for their neighbors.

The ELCA Outreach Center will hold its 1st Annual Golf Outing on Monday, June 29, 2026, at Kenosha Country Club, 500 13th Ave. Play begins with a 12 noon shotgun start. Registration is $175 per golfer or $700 per foursome, which covers golf fees, cart rental, and lunch.

Golfers can register individually or as a foursome at elcaoutreachcenter.org/1st-annual-golf-outing-sign-up.

A Cause Close to Home

Every dollar raised goes directly to supporting the Center’s programs — programs that more than 100 Kenosha residents rely on every single day.

Founded in 1997 by members of Grace Lutheran Church, the ELCA Outreach Center has grown from a modest clothing closet into one of Kenosha’s most comprehensive community support hubs. Located at 6218 26th Ave. at the corner of 63rd Street, the Center became an independent 501(c)(3) in 2002 and moved into its current home in 2014.

“The ELCA Outreach Center shares God’s Love as a faith-based organization offering a safe place that provides services to meet our community members’ needs,” the Center states in its mission.

That mission shows up in concrete, daily ways.

What the Center Does

For Kenosha’s youngest residents, the Center offers a free six-week Summer Camp for grade school children, back-to-school supply distribution each August, and Christmas gift distribution for families in need.

Adults can access weekly Bible study, basic computer classes and resume help — practical tools that support job readiness and self-sufficiency.

The Center’s outreach services extend further still, offering a free clothing closet, personal care items, diapers, feminine hygiene products, free legal advice, immigration legal support, prescription co-pay vouchers and referrals to partner agencies — all provided without barriers and with dignity.

More Than a Building

Mary Zorn, who leads the Center, can be reached at mzorn@elcaoutreachcenter.org 262-652-5545. The Center is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Residents looking to support the Center outside of the golf outing can donate gently used clothing, school supplies, diapers, personal care items, coffee and monetary gifts — or simply volunteer their time.
