Beverly A. Ruffalo, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Born in Chicago, Illinois, to Merton and Mary Hartnell, she grew up with a warm spirit and a creative heart. She graduated from Wilmot High School in Wilmot, Wisconsin, and went on to build a life rooted in family, community, and creativity.
Beverly was first married to Robert Greskoviak Sr., and together they welcomed two sons: Robert Greskoviak Jr. (Carrie) and Eric Greskoviak (Michelle). She later married Carl Ruffalo, and they completed their family with three children: Theodore Ruffalo (Virginia), Frank Ruffalo, and Rosaria Ruffalo.
A gifted decorator with an eye for beauty, Beverly owned and operated Villa D’Carlo for 35 years. Her holiday displays and summer outside dining floral arrangements were a local treasure: bold, elegant, and full of life. Through her work, she made the restaurant a place of warmth, celebration, and community tradition.
Those who knew Beverly will remember her for her kindness, generosity, and creativity. She made every person feel seen and welcome.
She is survived by her five children and her cherished grandchildren: Jacob, Lillian, Ryan, and Erica Greskoviak, Gabriella, Ellianna, and Olivia Ruffalo, and Lucille Roethke, as well as her great-grandson, CJ Hicks.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Merton and Mary Hartnell; her brother, Gregory Hartnell; her husbands, Carl Ruffalo and Robert Greskoviak, Sr., and her grandson, Robbie Greskoviak, III.
Beverly’s legacy lives on in the traditions she created, the beauty she shared, and the many lives she touched.
