Raymond Dean Slater II, 55, of Franklin, passed away on May 9, 2026. Born on May 1, 1971, in Kenosha, Ray was known for his kind heart, strong spirit, and the love he shared with family and friends throughout his life.
Ray was preceded in death by his mother, Anita (Walter) Sabby, and his nephew, Vincent Slater. He is survived by his father, Raymond (Linda) Slater I of Tomah; his sisters, Karen (Joseph DeLeon) Slater of Kenosha, Allee Slater of Neenah, and Paula Slater of Eau Claire; and his brothers, Raymond M. (Jennifer) Slater of Mondovi and Jerry (Jodi Kimmel) Slater of Kenosha. He is also
survived by his nieces and nephews, Alyssa Schultz of Burlington, Sebastian Schultz of Kenosha, Cierra Slater of Neenah, and Kaela (Will) Popp of Tucson, AZ; along with many other loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends. Ray also leaves behind his lifelong friends Steve Werner, Trent Cox, Laurie Hubbard, Wendi Hubbard, Donovan Olsen, Chucky Chaussee, Tim “Turk” Hubbard, Aslan Mahmudi, Adam Formicola, Chad Exner, and the Campeau family, whose friendship meant so much to him throughout his life.
Ray worked for Campbell Soup Company in Franklin for many years and was known as an extremely hard worker who took pride in everything he did. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, working on cars, listening to vinyl records, and playing guitar. Ray especially loved making the best breakfasts for his family and friends, something everyone looked forward to and will fondly remember.
He was also a devoted fan of the Milwaukee Brewers and the Green Bay Packers. He especially enjoyed attending Brewers games with his friend Wendi, creating many cherished memories together. Ray was the best uncle not only to his nieces and nephews, but also to the children of his friends, all of whom loved him dearly.
Ray touched many lives with his generosity, sense of humor, and unwavering dedication to those he loved most. He will be remembered for the memories he created, the laughter he brought to others, and the lasting impact he made on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Bruch Funeral Home. Services and burial will take place at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park and will be held privately with immediate family only. The family appreciates the love, prayers, and support during this difficult time.
