With grace and quiet strength, Anniepearl “Marie” Jenkins / Jackson / Beatie (AKA: Boo), age 76, of Kenosha, closed the doors on this earthly journey & stepped into eternal glory as she passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of family, on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha. We know she is in a better place with her Heavenly Father.
Anniepearl was born in Kenosha, WI, on July 10, 1949, to the late Ernest Eugene Barnes and Elsie Ruth (nee: Jenkins) James. A graduate of Washington Park High School, Marie went on to serve our communities as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Zion Benton Hospital in Zion, IL, and Ascension – St. Luke’s Medical Center in Racine, WI. In 1967, she married Henry Jackson, Jr. From that union, they had a daughter, Shannon Marie Jackson, and Vincent Lamont Jackson. On September 22, 1983, Marie was united in marriage with Melvin Beatie. From that union, their daughter, Tiffany Shay Beatie / Powell, was born. Melvin preceded Marie in death on April 10, 2021.
At the age of 12 years old, she joined Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Warren, Arkansas. Marie was a proud and longtime member of Blessings Center Outreach Ministry Church – Kenosha, WI, under the leadership of Bishop E.N. Cooksey. With a great passion for helping others, Marie also served as a loving & amazing foster mother to over 30 children over a span of 11 years. Dressing up fancy, Cadillacs, going out to eat, long phone calls, dancing, cooking, casino outings, and spending every available moment with family are what Marie enjoyed most.
Surviving are her children, Vincent (Denise) Jackson, Shannon Jackson, and Tiffany Powell; grandchildren, Marcus Jackson, Brittany Russell, Uni’ce White, Calvin (Kelsie Williams) Powell III, Destinye (Dareyn Myrick) Powell, Nevaeh Frazier, and Kindelyn Anderson; great-grandchildren, Jahmariana Harmon, Joshua Damman-Powell, and Amelia Powell; nephews, Joshua & Josiah; aunts, Eloise Jenkins and Clydean Robinson; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives & friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Marie was preceded in death by her beloved granddaughter, Moni’ce White; brother, David James; and former husband, Henry Jackson.
Services celebrating Marie will be held in Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 12:00 noon with Bishop E.N. Cooksey officiating. Interment will follow in Green Ridge Cemetery – Kenosha. Viewing will be in the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 am– 12:00 pm, with a family hour beginning at 10:00 am.
