Edward J. “Ed” Hauser, Jr. died peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of Easter morning, on April 5, 2026. Ed was pre-deceased by his loving parents, Edward Sr. and Victoria Hauser. He is survived by his sisters Louise (the late John Angel, MD) and Barbara (the late Dale Tillman). He was the fond Uncle of Vicki (Brian) Hagan, John (Yamuna) Angel, Chris (Tracea) Angel, Chad (Tonya) Angel, Luke (Jennifer) Angel, Sarah (Stephen) Perry, and Bryan (Fiona) Tillman. Ed was also the great-uncle of seven.
Ed was born in Chicago, IL, on July 26, 1945. He later lived in several Chicago suburbs and moved to Kenosha, WI, for retirement
After attending St. Thomas College, Ed joined the Army. He was selected for special training in linguistics in Monterey, CA. After completing his training, he served his time in Army intelligence working in Berlin as an undercover interpreter and translator. He was totally immersed in the German culture and spoke German fluently.
After serving in the military, Ed joined AT&T and was one of their “pioneer” employees. He worked in sales and account management and enjoyed an early retirement.
Ed was involved in many charitable organizations. One of his charities was the Chicago American Cancer Society’s Bike-a-Thon, which he chaired for a number of years. He was an avid pet lover and had a number of dog companions throughout his life.
Ed was a devout Catholic serving as an altar boy and later as a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an active member at St. Anne’s Church in Pleasant Prairie, WI. He was involved in several ministries and was an active advocate for helping others in need.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church.
