With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved sweet child, Sterling Brett Oliver, on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at the age of 22. Also known as Viviana to some friends. Sterling was born on May 15, 2003, to Edward and Lanette (Fluck) Oliver. He was a graduate of LakeView Technology Academy. He was a bright light in the lives of those who knew him, filled with creativity, quiet strength, laughter, and a beautiful spirit.
Sterling was gentle, kind, and deeply caring, with a patient and dependable nature. He had a witty sense of humor and a warmth that made others feel comfortable and understood. He will be remembered for his beautiful smile, long hair, and piercing blue eyes.
Sterling formerly worked at the Kenosha Humane Society, where his love for animals was evident. For the past two and half years as a security guard for GardaWorld.
Sterling had many different passions throughout his life. As a child, he loved Thomas the Tank Engine and trains, had an incredible knowledge of dinosaurs, and enjoyed playing Mario games, especially Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros., as well as building with Legos. As he grew older, he continued to enjoy Mario and gaming, developed a love for anime, and showed a true gift for drawing. He also had a deep love for animals, especially dogs, cats, wolves, foxes, and servals. He enjoyed spending time with friends, going on trips with family or friends, and most of all, being at home drawing and gaming with those closest to him.
Sterling’s kindness and gentle nature had a way of making even the toughest days feel a little brighter. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He will be profoundly missed by his parents, Edward and Lanette (Fluck) Oliver; his brother, AJ (Austin) Oliver; his grandparents, Dan and Janet Fluck and Sandy Maennena; his aunts and uncles, Lori and Kirk Duffie, Aaron Maennena and Sabrina Adams, Heidi Maennena and family, John Maennena, and Amie and Jared Verba; and his cousins, Dani Williams, Hazel Kopera and family, Anastasia Mallek, Chloe Adams, and many other extended family members and friends.
As we come together to grieve, let us also remember the joy Sterling brought to our lives and the love he shared with everyone around him. His spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
Rest gently, dear Sterling. You are loved always and forever.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Sterling’s honor may be made to the Kenosha Humane Society, 7811 60th Ave, Kenosha, WI 53142, https://www.wihumane.org/, or the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention through AJ’s fraternity, Lambda Chi Alpha, https://supporting.afsp.org/campaigns/lambdasigma.
