Chad Patrick Hoelzel, age 36, passed away peacefully on March 13th, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born April 24th, 1989, in Appleton, Wisconsin to Ken and Theresa (McKone) Hoelzel, Chad graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School and earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Milwaukee School of Engineering. While attending college, he became a member of the Triangle Fraternity. After graduating from college, he proudly had a 13-year career with Tetra Pak.
Chad met the love of his life, Julie (Benzshawel), when they both were attending Sturgeon Bay High School. They began dating in 2007 and were married in 2018. Chad and Julie had 19 years of adventures together, where they traveled the world and played cribbage in too many breweries to count. Chad had a passion for many hobbies and interests, including, but not limited to, disc golf, cycling, running, roller coasters, traveling, beer, bourbon, headphones, and music of all types – his favorite symphony composer being Gustav Mahler. Chad was known for his tenacious spirit and magnetic personality. He enjoyed driving his Miata to new places and met new people wherever he went.
He is survived by his wife, Julie; his parents, Ken and Theresa (McKone) Hoelzel; Aunts, Uncles, Cousins; and loving friends that he treated like family. He was predeceased by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, March 27th, 2-4 pm at the Kemper Center, 6501 3rd Ave in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
