Residential waste collection will have a delayed start and may take longer than usual to complete on Tuesday, March 17, 2026.
Due to high winds and blizzard conditions on Monday, March 16, area landfills were closed. As a result, the city was unable to transfer waste collected Monday to its landfill.
On Tuesday, city crews will first haul accumulated loads of waste to the landfill before beginning normal residential collection routes. Because of this, waste collection will
start later than usual and may extend later into the day.
All garbage placed at the curb for regularly scheduled Tuesday routes will still be collected.
Recycling collection is not affected by landfill closures and will proceed as normal.
Residents are asked to please leave their garbage carts at the curb until collection has been completed.
