Valerie “Val” Christina Serafini, 76, of Pleasant Prairie, WI, formerly of Chicago, IL, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Parkside Manor in Kenosha, WI.
Born on October 29, 1949, in Chicago, IL, she was the beloved daughter of the late Anna Marie Zinco Juresk. She attended Mary Lyon Elementary School and graduated from Steinmetz High School in Chicago, IL.
Val was employed by Pfizer Pharmaceuticals for several years. She then went on to manage European Imports in Niles, IL until her retirement in 2019. After retirement, she moved to Pleasant Prairie, WI, with her sister.
She loved to travel with her mom and was able to enjoy her dream trips to Hawaii and Alaska. Val and her mom lived together and worked together at European Imports. They attended many collection conventions together and were collectors of Precious Moments Figurines and Swarovski Crystals. She loved cats and, with her mom, rescued neglected neighborhood cats and provided them with a loving forever home. Val loved her friends and was a “foodie” and enjoyed eating out with her mom and friends.
Val is survived by her sister, Daria Serafini of Pleasant Prairie, WI; her daughter of her heart, Selene Sandre of Kailua, HI; and her dear friend, Debbie Johnston of Kenosha, WI.
