March 11, 1923 – March 7, 2026
Gloria Putrow, 102, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Brookside Care Center.
Born in Kenosha on March 11, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Elena (Bonaretti) Senatore. A lifetime resident of Kenosha, she was educated in Kenosha schools, Bain Elementary, McKinley Junior High School, and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School in 1942. She later graduated from Milwaukee School of Cosmetology in 1951.
On February 11, 1956, she was united in marriage to Harold Putrow at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. He later preceded her in death on October 11, 2017.
Gloria was employed at Orpheum Beauty Shop, where she was a beautician for many years, the Simmons Mattress Company, and the Kenosha Sears & Roebuck Company coffee shop. Gloria was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, where she belonged to the Ladies Society. She enjoyed sewing, and she made all her clothes growing up. Gloria loved to read romance novels and People magazine, gossip about Hollywood celebrities, listen and dance to Ricky Martin’s music, and most of all, spend time visiting with many friends, neighbors, and family. She and her husband, Harold, enjoyed traveling over the years to Italy, Florida, Hawaii, and California. Gloria would say, “You need to travel while you are young and live life to the fullest!”
Surviving are her two children, Michael (Rose) Putrow, and Shelley (Robert) Bohm both of Mount Pleasant, WI; a sister-in-law Nancy Senatore, Kingwood, TX; three grandchildren, Natalie (Peter) Baldus of Mount Holy, NC, Joseph (Allison Langham) Putrow of Saint Paul, MN, and Alyssa Bohm of Racine, WI; and two great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Vera Baldus, Mount Holy, NC.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Richard Senatore, and her husband.
The family would like to extend their thanks to the entire staff of nurses, aids and others supporting at Brookside Care Center for their compassionate care.
