Van A. Buehler, 79, of Twin Lakes, WI, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026. Born on June 15, 1946, in Red Bud, IL, he was the beloved son of the late Ivo and Dolores (Bievenue) Buehler.
Van built a distinguished career marked by leadership, integrity, and dedication. He served as Vice President of Marketing for Statewide Insurance, following a successful tenure as Regional Manager for Country Companies. His professional accomplishments were matched by his commitment to his community. As Past President of the Red Bud Jaycees, Van devoted countless hours to service initiatives that strengthened and enriched the town he loved.
A man of energy and enthusiasm, Van had a lifelong passion for racing. He competed in limited sportsman stock car events, proudly driving the #18 car and forging friendships and memories at the track. He also found great joy on the golf course, where his competitive spirit was balanced by laughter and camaraderie shared with family and friends.
One of the greatest blessings of Van’s life was his marriage to his beloved wife, Marianne (née Swank). They were united in marriage on December 13, 2003, in Waukegan. Together, they created a warm and joyful home, filled with love, companionship, and many cherished furry family members.
Van is survived by his devoted wife, Marianne; his daughters, Tammi (Tom) Heizer and Terri (Dan) Imming; and his treasured grandchildren: Seth (Samantha) Heizer, Ian (Courtney) Heizer, Pierce (Zara Shuey) Heizer, Lacy (Zak) Kurtz, and Ronica Imming. He was a proud great-grandfather to Savannah, Oaklee, and Kinzley.
He is also survived by his siblings: Glen Buehler; Iva (Jay) Kriebel; Gail (Rich) Stefani; and Lynn (Tom) Hubert, along with more than 80 nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who held a special place in his heart.
Van was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Leon Buehler.
He will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to family, his gift for bringing smiles to those around him, his boundless collection of unforgettable catchphrases, and his adventurous spirit. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched and in the enduring love of those who were blessed to know him.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 202,6 at 12:00 PM at the Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory, 620 Legion Dr,. Twin Lakes, WI. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of services at the funeral home.
