Renate (“Randee”) Gisele Fumich (Brekeller), 84, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Froedtert South St. Catherine’s Hospital.
She was born on July 9, 1941. Renate came to the United States from Germany with her parents, Ernst and Chrystal (Schmidtke) Brekeller, at the age of 14, and her sisters Maryanne and Elsa. She attended McKinley Jr High and Bradford High School. Her first job was working on the “Glade” line of products at Johnson Wax. Later in her career, she worked at Shady Lawn Nursing Home, K-Mart as an Automotive office manager, and in a Dr.’s office as an office administrator. She loved bowling, playing Scrabble, Card games, and enjoying her family.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother, brother John Brekeller, sisters Elsa Oman and Maryanne Connelly, niece Robin Samsoe, nephew Robert Samsoe, and niece Shannon Christiansen.
She is survived by her sons Steven Lindstrom (Bonnie) and Russell Lindstrom (Nikki), God-Daughter and niece Taranne Mayes (Steve), nephew Tim Samsoe (Charley), niece Stacey Christiansen, nephew John Brekeller, niece Emily Brekeller, nephews Frank and John Barca, and Todd, Troy, and Jason Parsons.
As a Grandmother she had four loving grandchildren, Zac Lindstrom (Kaylen), Jake Lindstrom (Brea), Sara Lindstrom, and Susan Cooper (Collin), and 7 adorable great-grandchildren, Ani, Tilly, Jaxson, Bridget, Wyatt, Elliana, and Brooks.
She shared many friendships with Judy Zagame, Nancy Stinson, Joanne Prestral, Sharon Casado, Jesse Hanley, Linda Ruppel, and in-laws Jeanne and Ozzie Parsons and Dorothy Barca.
A Celebration of Life for Renate will be held at a later date.
