June 29, 1931 – February 3, 2026
Dolores Mary Alice Norcross, 94, of Kenosha, WI, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Library Terrace.
She was born in Kenosha, WI, on June 29, 1931, to the late Albert and Dorothy (Scherrer) Hessefort.
Dolores was educated in Kenosha schools, graduating from Kenosha High School in 1949. While still being a full-time mom of 6 kids, she went on to complete the Licensed Practical Nursing program at Kenosha Technical Institute.
She was employed as a licensed practical nurse at St. Catherine’s Hospital until her retirement in 1991. She then volunteered at their gift shop for ten years.
On September 1, 1951, she married Donald Norcross at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. After 65 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on June 13, 2017.
Dolores was a thoughtful and caring wife and mother with a wonderful sense of humor and joy of living. Dolores loved her six children very much and was proud of them always. She cherished spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren, and her friends, Diane Larsen and the late Barbara Scherrer. Throughout her life, she enjoyed sewing, quilting, and volunteering at the Durkee Mansion. She was a very active member of the local quilt club.
She is survived by her six children, Brad of Rapid City, SD, Bob (Nancy) of Madison, Barbara (Tom Flynn) of Reedsburg, Sue (Jan Dyke) of Menomonee Falls, Nancy (Al Johnson) Brennan of Hartford, and Carol (Andy) Schroeder of Kenosha, and 12 grandchildren, Katie (Justin), Joe, Breanne (Jim), Evan, David (fiancé Laura), Erin (Jarrett), Alexandra (Justin), Elena (fiancé Sean), Nicole (Lucas), Melissa (Camryn), Jarod, and Lucas; four great-grandchildren, Will, Elowen, Dean, and Avital; and one brother, James Hessefort.
Dolores was also preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Charles, and John “Jack” Hessefort; daughter-in-law, Linda Norcross; and son-in-law, Tim Brennan.
Dolores’ family would like to thank the staff at Library Terrace and Hospice Alliance for their excellent and compassionate care.
