Thomas Gentes, 78, of Kenosha, passed away on January 25, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Thomas was born on July 5, 1947, in Kenosha, the son of the late Robert and Rosalie (Hagelshur) Gentes. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha, graduating from Bradford High School. Thomas married Mary Bronk on December 2, 1972, in Kenosha. He worked for AMC/Chrysler as an electrician for 25 years. Thomas was a member of the United States Army, serving two tours in Vietnam. His hobbies included crafting miniature bikes, planes, flowers, trees, and rings out of wire and scrap. He was a percussionist for the “Reminiscing” big band as well as others over the years. As parishioners of St. Casimir church and School, Tom and Mary co-chaired the summer festival for 20 years. He loved spending time with his friends and family as well as enjoying trips and cruises with his wife. And of course, he loved spending many hours in his home theater, which he designed and built.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Gentes of Kenosha; children, Susan Granato of Kenosha, Christopher Gentes of FL, Tommy Gentes of Kenosha; sisters, Patricia Modder of Kenosha, Mary Parkhurst of Kenosha; grandchildren, Hailey Gentes and Sydney Gentes; also included is his great-grandchild, Wyatt. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, William Modder and Gregg Parkhurst.
A memorial gathering will be held at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, from 8:00 AM-10:00 AM with memorial services to follow immediately at 10:00 AM.
