Joseph Vena, 79, of Kenosha, WI, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at Froedtert Pleasant Prairie in Pleasant Prairie, WI.
Born in Kenosha, WI, on November 11, 1946, he was the son of the late Peter and Adeline (Russo) Vena.
On June 30, 1973, he married Rita Metallo at Our Lady of the Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on January 25, 2020.
Joseph worked as a crane operator at American Brass until his retirement in 2000.
He was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. He enjoyed carpentry and was a jack of all trades. He loved working with his hands. He remodeled his own home in the 1970s, used to work on cars with his brother, and he was a true handyman. He loved cooking and all things food. He was incredibly sociable and jovial.
Joseph is survived by his two brothers, Albert Vena and Chuck (Pat) Vena; many special nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, John P. Vena; his half sister, Dorothy Brooks; and his sister-in-law, Josephine Vena.
A visitation will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Proko Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00noon. Interment will follow in St. George Cemetery.
