Cindy Lu Dodson, 65, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, at Froedtert South St. Catherine’s Hospital.
She was born on December 9, 1959, in San Diego, California, to Charles and Shirley (Boothby) Tweedy. Her father was in the Navy, so they moved around a lot from coast to coast before the family finally settled in Illinois.
She worked as a CNA and Receptionist at the Grove at the Lake in Zion, Ill., for many years before leaving to take care of her granddaughter, Luna before officially adopting her in 2023.
She loved watching baking competition shows, Harry Potter, Packers Games, NCIS, Charmed, and The Masked Singer, just to name a few.
She loved spending time with her large family, whether it was just sitting, drinking coffee, watching TV with her kids, to hanging with the whole family at numerous cookouts throughout the summer.
Cindy is survived by her Children: Ronald Tweedy, Krishna (Justin) Olszewski, Mark Young Jr, Matthew Young, Patrick Young, Her adopted Daughter Luna Bay Young, Aimee (Mike) Somers, and Mark (Arielle) Dodson Jr., her numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, her 7 siblings; Robyn Arango, SiDonnie Cronk, DeAnna Dodson, Kenneth (Nancy) Tweedy Colleen (Bob) Marjala; Jeremy Tweedy and Kristin (Arthur) Pompy and countless nieces and nephews. Cindy was a loving and wonderful mother to her children and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by both of her husbands, Mark Young Sr. in 1992, and Mark Dodson Sr. in 2015. Her mother Shirley died in 2005, her father Charles in 2015, and a nephew in 2011.
A Celebration of Life for Cindy will be held on Tuesday, November 25th, at 1:00 p.m. at the Bruch Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
