March 12, 1951 – November 9, 2025
Ross Daniel Rushing passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025, at Froedtert South St. Catherine’s Hospital in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, at the age of 74. He was born on March 12, 1951, in Starkville, Mississippi. He was the son of the late RC and Bessie Juanita Rushing (nee Fox).
In his early life, he attended schools in Mississippi before moving to Union Grove, Wisconsin, and later graduating from Union Grove High School. Following graduation, he married his high school sweetheart, Mary Ann Fojtik, on October 7, 1972, in Union Grove. The two of them settled in the Kenosha area to raise a family. Ross worked for American Motors/Chrysler-Daimler on the assembly line for 34 years until his retirement in May 2009. He was a proud member of United Auto Workers Local 72, and he was the Chief Committeeman for the union towards the end of his employment. When Ross was not working, he spent his free time repairing older houses of his own and helping friends and family members with their house repairs and car maintenance.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Rushing, and sister-in-law, Pamela Rushing. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Rushing (nee Fojtik), of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin; son, Ross Daniel (Shannon) Rushing II, of New Berlin, Wisconsin; brother, Timothy Rushing, of Kenosha, Wisconsin; sister, Carol Regina (Bill) Britt, of Leaf, Mississippi; sister-in-law, Catherine Ann (Chris) Fogle, of Austell, Georgia; brother-in-law, Bart (Terry) Fojtik, of West Bend, Wisconsin; sister-in-law, Susan (Jerry) Gondert, of Lillian, Alabama; as well as other special family and friends.
Ross will always be remembered as the one person you could count on. Whether you needed help with car maintenance, building a house, or remodeling a house; he was always the one everyone called. He could fix and build anything for you and was affectionately known as “Superman with a toolbelt.” His lawn was the envy of the neighborhood. He always put others first and was the backbone of his family. His absence has left a hole in the universe that will never be filled.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nurses at Froedtert South Hospital and Hospice for the loving care and attention Ross received during his time there until the end of his life.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M. on December 5th, 2025, at Prayer House Assembly of God in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Ross will be buried at Union Grove Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, Wisconsin.
