Janet M. Zamsky, 89, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, Saturday, November 8, 2025, at her residence.
She was born on October 23, 1936, to the late Fred and Thelma (Lohman) Fuhrer in Kenosha. She was educated in the schools of Kenosha and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School.
On May 14, 1955, she married Ronald Robert Zamsky at St. George Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on March 18, 2009.
Janet worked as a customer service supervisor for the water utility department for the City of Kenosha for many years.
Janet was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Kenosha and a member of St. Charles Catholic Church of Picayune, MS.
Janet enjoyed sewing, knitting, sudoku puzzles, reading, traveling with family, and traveling to 48 states. She was also a Green Bay Packers and New Orleans Saints fan. She was a devout Catholic and had an undying love for her family.
Janet is survived by her children Mary (Kenneth) Farley of Kenosha, Robert Ronald (LeeAnn) Zamsky of Holcomb, WI, Michael Zamsky of Holcomb, WI and Amanda (Keegan) Hawkins of Picayune, MS, her sister Judy (Murray) Capponi, her grandchildren John W. Hamblin of Tupelo, MS, James J. Hamblin of Tupelo, MS, Jason R. Hamblin of Satillo MS, Amy M. Polzien of West Allis, WI, Ashley S. Zamsky of West Allis, WI, Sarah Farley of Sturtevant, WI, Jessica E. Wilkerson of Carrier, MS, Daniel Zamsky of West Allis, WI, Jack R. Hawkins of Picayune, MS, Nora R. Hawkins of Picayune, MS, Andrew Zamsky of Kenosha, and Matthew Stahl of New London, WI her 20 great grandchildren and her two great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by a son, Tim, a daughter, Joan, a siste,r Joan Frances, in infancy, a brother, Jay Fuhrer, a grandson, Nathan Zamsky, a great granddaughter, Olivia Hamblin, and a great grandson, Brandon Block.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Janet will be held on Monday, November 17th at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church (corner of 73rd St. and 39th Ave.). Visitation will be held on Monday from 12:00 p.m. (Noon) until the time of Mass.
