March 7, 1968 – August 30, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rosario S. Aguilar, who passed away Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Froedtert Pleasant Prairie Hospital, surrounded by her family. Born on March 7, 1968, to Refugio DeLao Sepulveda and Ramona Gutierres Garcia, she was a graduate of South Garland High School in South Garland, Texas.
Rosario lived a life full of strength, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Married for 13 years, she had one child with Roberto and lovingly raised three others as her own. Her dedication as a mother was matched only by the warmth she showed to everyone around her. At just 15 years old, she moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to live with her sister Esmeralda. She spent 11 formative years there before relocating to Kenosha in 1995, where she would plant roots and raise her children.
She had a deep and abiding love for animals and was a proud dog mom to Dallas, Peanut, Ceasar, Sonja, Snowball, and Pixie, who were all considered cherished family members.
Rosario held a variety of jobs throughout her life that reflected her determination and resilience. She began as a waitress at Denny’s, then worked as a house cleaner for a local dentist, and later took on the role of Repo Finance Accountant for Volkswagen before retiring in 2013. No matter the position, she approached her work with pride and integrity.
She had an unmistakable zest for life, whether it was sunbathing, swimming, or enjoying her favorite guilty pleasures in such as Jack-in-the-Box tacos, chewing on “hospital ice,” and edible gummies. Her vibrant personality shone through her love of Disney World, especially Minnie Mouse, Betty Boop, and Tinkerbell. She was a proud Star Wars fan and had a special place in her heart for anime, especially “One Piece.” Halloween and scary movies were among her favorite things, though she also cherished holiday traditions and movie nights, particularly watching Polar Express, Elf, and other Christmas classics with popcorn alongside her children and grandchildren.
Dancing was second nature to Rosario, a gift she credited to her mother, Ramona, and she loved to skate at Great Skate in Kenosha and in Texas, especially when live bands played at the rinks. Her favorite color was blue, and she was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan, even while somehow managing to also love Aaron Rodgers and Brett Favre.
She was an excellent cook, known especially for her tamales, pozole, Mexican rice, homemade beans, meatloaf, and chorizo. Her family also fondly remembers her enjoying fish from Culver’s. She loved to travel back to Texas as often as she could to be with loved ones, and Christmas time surrounded by family was her absolute favorite.
Rosario is survived by her daughter, Juanita Hernandez; sons Alexandar Tovar, Abraham Bravo, and Roberto Aguilar, Jr.; mother, Ramona Garcia Sepulveda; sisters, Esmeralda Sepulveda, Rebbeca Bynum, RoseMary Rodriguez, Ramona Palacios, Lilly Garcia, and Lucy Gallegos; grandchildren, Miracle Hernandez, Israel Tovar, Alexander Tovar, Jr., Isa’riah, and Evah.
She was preceded in death by her father, Refugio DeLao Sepulveda, and close friend Nancy Wren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Though she has left this world, Rosario’s love, laughter, and light will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew her. Her presence was a gift, and her memory will be a blessing.
