Daniel Clarence Plummer III, a resident of Trevor, passed away on August 26th, 2025. He was 69 years old.
Born to Parents Daniel and Margaret “Peggy” (Marshall) Plummer in Evanston, IL, Dan was raised in the Lake Forest area, where he attended local schools. After high school, he went on to become a successful Auto Parts Salesman for many years, earning the trust of his many customers. He was very proud of this work.
Dan was a man of many interests. In his early life, he loved Harley Davidson Motorcycles but had to give up riding after a back injury, so he transitioned his love of tinkering to the world of cars. He was the proud owner of a Chevy Camaro, modeled after Bumblebee from Transformers. He souped it up with performance parts and had a custom paint job applied.
He loved going to Torch Lake, Michigan, with his parents and later with his own family.
Dan was also an animal lover, lovingly rescuing and caring for many dogs and cats throughout his life, and most recently, his 2 enormous St. Bernard dogs, who loved him dearly and will miss him.
Dan was also proud to be nearly 30 years sober and was an active member of AA for many years.
On Labor Day 2010, Dan married the love of his life, Shelley Raeburn, whom he met through AA. They were married in a backyard ceremony in the presence of friends and family.
Dan is survived by his wife, Shelley, his son, Dan Plummer of Detroit, his daughter Katie (Ryan) Nieuwenhuis of Milwaukee, grandchildren Paxton and Addison, and his brother Dave Plummer of Traverse City.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Judith, his Father-in-Law Bruce, and lots of beloved cats and dogs.
Services will be held privately in accordance with Dan’s wishes.
