November 16, 1971 – August 16, 2025
Joe Lueck always marched to his own drummer, so it will come as no surprise to those who knew him that he was adamant his obituary should read, “Joe Lueck is dead.” He also hated obituaries that didn’t include a cause of death, so we are saddened to announce that Joe succumbed to liver failure after a long illness on Saturday, August 16, 2025. He was 53.
Joe was a born tinkerer and a jack of all trades. If something was broken, he wanted to know how it worked and how to put it back together again, usually better than before. He had a special love for vintage televisions, happily coaxing them back to life even when they were found on the curb. As a teenager, he even replaced the engine in his car, a feat that set the tone for a lifetime of ingenuity.
He is survived by his father, Robert Lueck of Park City, IL; his mother, Susan Lueck of Kenosha; his brother, Jeffery “Chip” Lueck of Kenosha; his sister, Jennifer Lueck of Kenosha; and his beloved “Auntie Betty” Lueck of Kenosha, who was always like a second mother to him.
Memorial services honoring Joe’s life will be held privately.
