It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Lillian Regina Romanowski, who left this world on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at the remarkable age of 98. Lil made her mark on the world with her warmth, kindness, and sharp wit that could light up any room.
Lil was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on January 26, 1927, to the late Peter and Julie (Domalik) Leskowicz. She was a graduate of Kenosha High School.
On October 20, 1951, she was united in marriage to Philip Basil Romanowski at St. Casimir Catholic Church. After spending 71 years together, Philip preceded her in death on December 24, 2022.
She was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church and later St. Peter’s Catholic Church, and actively volunteered at numerous church functions. Lil worked at U.W. Parkside. She was known for her home baking, especially her pies, bread, and sweet rolls.
She is survived by her children, James (Karen Drew) Romanowski of Delafield, WI, Renee (Donald Parker) Romanowski of Denver, CO, Jeffery (Ulli) Romanowski of Amenia Union, NY, Jerome Romanowski and Jack Romanowski of Kenosha, WI; her grandchildren, Brett, Matthew, Andrew, Joshua and Zoe; her great grandchildren, Landon, Cole, Mason, Mila, Lillian, and Izabella.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lil was preceded in death by her sisters Esther Despins and Dolores Mullaly, and daughter-in-law, Karen (Esson) Romanowski.
In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 2224 30th Ave, Kenosha, WI 53144 would be appreciated.
