With great sadness, we announce the passing of Frederic J. Nyara at the age of 80. He was born on November 24, 1944, in Ashland, WI, the son of the late Joseph and Veronica Nyara. A beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. Frederic passed away on Friday, August 8, 2025, at Hospice Alliance surrounded by his loving family.
On September 19, 1981, he was united in marriage to Barbara Keating. Their union was blessed with 43 years of marriage.
He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and served as a trustee for about 12 years.
He worked in the JI Case machine shop for 9 years while earning a night school Associate Degree in Fluid Power at K.T.I. He then completed an electrician apprenticeship at JI Case Foundry.
Fred had a passion for Harleys, carving wood and leather items, creating pencil drawings, and maintaining his cars. He cherished moments spent in the woods with his chainsaw or axe and was an avid deer hunter at Thanksgiving with family for 50 years. An adventurer at heart, Fred enjoyed trips to Western Montana, where he lent his skills to assist John and Faye in building their cabin with all of his brothers, son, and nephew. His dedication to his family was evident in his relationships with his wife, Barbara; daughters, Dawn and Theresa; and his sons, Kenneth and Michael, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Frederic is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughters, Dawn (Mike) Gross and Theresa (Craig) Morse; son, Michael (Alicia) Nyara; daughter-in-law, Karyn Nyara; grandchildren, Breanna (Alex), Shelby (Justin), Kelsey, Amber (George), Vicky (Trevor), Joseph, Camrin, Lincoln and Emilie; great-grandchildren, Mara, Liam, Grace, Maeve and Tatum; siblings, Bea Daigle, Rosa (Joe) Morgan, Nancy (John) Washnieski, Rita (Terry) Edelman, Paul Nyara, John (Faye) Nyara and Joe Nyara; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ken (Joan), Dawn (Michael) and Jackie and many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, Joseph and Veronica, Fred was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Nyara; grandson, Dexter; great-grandson, George Rouson Jr., brother-in-law, Larry Daigle and dear friends, Bill Pagac and Bill Franks.
Internment will be held privately in St. Casimir Cemetery at a later date.
