It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Isabell Free, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, who left us peacefully on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the age of 95. Isabell was born in Rector, Arkansas, on February 20, 1930, to the late Rudy and Sessil (Edwards) Butts. She was a graduate of Moro High School.
On June 10, 1949, she was united in marriage to Martin V. Free.
As a devoted homemaker, Isabell poured her love and creativity into her family, nurturing them with all the care and attention that only she could provide. Her passion for quilting was a testament to her dedication; each stitch sewn with love, creating blankets and memories for all. Isabell found joy in listening to older country music, letting its melodies fill her home with nostalgia and comfort.
She had a vibrant spirit reflected in her love for bright colors and colorful flowers, which adorned her garden and brought smiles to those around her. Above all, she held a deep faith in God and cherished the belief in a peaceful heaven, which guided her through life’s ups and downs.
She is survived by her children, Ronald (Darlene) Free, Patricia Miller and Barbara (Robert) Kiesner; sisters, Pauline Hart and Betty Klink; grandchildren, Tammy Smith, Corey Miller, Robert (Lisa) Kiesner Jr., Joshua (Megan) Kiesner, Jason (Shannon) Free, Kyle (Jenny) Free and Nicholas Free. Isabell is also survived by her 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. Each of them carries a piece of Isabell’s spirit and love in their hearts.
In addition to her parents, Isabell was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Martin V. Free; her siblings, Jim Butts, Jack Butts, Cornelius Butts, Augustine Brown, Eugene Butts, Ivy Coulter, Nadine Jones and Lewis Butts.
As we remember Isabell Free, let us carry her legacy of love, creativity, and faith, keeping her spirit alive in our hearts and actions. Her light will forever shine on in the lives she touched, and she will be deeply missed.
A gathering of relatives and friends honoring Isabell’s life will be held at a later date. Isabell will be laid to rest by her husband in Marianna Memorial Park Cemetery, Marianna, AK.
