Shirley M. Heigl, 98, of McHenry, IL., passed away on Friday, July 18th, 2025. Shirley was born in Kenosha, WI, on June 18th, 1927, to her parents, Andrew and Marie (Schmidt) Wiegele. She would then go on to marry the love of her life, Richard Heigl.
Shirley loved many things, but none more than her family. She loved being a mom, a grandma, and a great-grandma. Shirley was a seamstress of all sorts and would often make outfits for the children in the family. She was a big reader and made sure she did her crossword puzzles every day. Shirley was also a world traveler and was able to brag about having traveled to all 50 states, with her last big trip going to Alaska at 90 years old.
Shirley is survived by her 3 children: Richard (KrisAnne) Heigl, David (Linda) Heigl, Anne (Dave) Keeney. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Richard (Dawn), Andrew “Bear,” Rachel (Anthony), Amanda, Nicolette (Joseph), Savannah (Diego), and Taylor. Shirley is further survived by her great-grandchildren: Tristan, Alex, Abigail, Anthony Jr., Landon, Liam, Blaine, and Josette.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard, her siblings, and her children, Lawrence and Bruce.
Funeral Services for Shirley will be held this Friday, July 25th, 2025, at 1:00P.M. at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory, 620 Legion Dr., Twin Lakes, WI, 53181. A visitation will be taking place at the same location from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Following the service, interment will take place at Mound Prairie cemetery, 39000 104th St. Twin Lakes, WI., 53181. Haase-Lockwood is proud to have taken care of the Heigl family.
