Dolores J. “Dede” (Poster) Otto, 80, of Salem, WI., passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at St. Catherine’s hospital in Pleasant Prairie, WI., Dede was surrounded by her devoted husband Tom and their loving family. Dede was born in San Francisco, CA., to Fred and Rosellen (Kennedy) Poster, on February 28th, 1945. Dede met the love of her life Tom Otto, in Madison WI., and got married on September 2nd, 1967. Dede was a loving and devoted wife to her husband Tom, mom to 3 wonderful daughters, Terrie, Martie, and Bonnie, and loved being a grandma to Veda, Vivi, Audrey, and Ellie. Dede loved many things, including reading, making beaded jewelry, road trips, home decorating. She loved to cook, and going out to lunch with her daughters, she enjoyed “cocktail hours,” with a martini, she loved going out to dinner with Tom, especially to a Friday night fish fry at “The Hideaway.” Dede always made sure she had a good laugh and enjoyed life.
Dede is survived by her husband Tom Otto, her daughters; Terri Otto, Martie (Terry) Gross, Bonnie (Tim) Gross. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Veda, Vivi, Audrey, and Ellie. Dede is also survived by her brother, Fr. Jay Poster, her sister Kay (Poster) Wittenwyler, and Michael Dorn.
Dede is preceded in death by her parents.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place on May 29th, 2025, at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, 5460 Mary Lake Rd. Waunakee, WI., 53597. A visitation for Dede will be held at the same location from 9:00 A.M. until the time of Mass at 11:00 A.M. followed by the burial right after mass at St. Mary of the Lake cemetery.
